After a though run earlier this term in Sheffield and Cardiff, CUDT travelled to Blackpool on Saturday 23rd February to take part in the 57th Inter-Varsity Dance Competition (IVDC) – the National Championship of the student dancesport circuit, which boasts more than 1000 competitors. We arrived again as defending champions, and amid some very tough competition, came away with the ‘best overall team’ title for the eigth consecutive year.

The Nottingham Varsity Ball, on Sunday the 25th November, was the first Inter-Varsity competition for CUDT of the year. After just six weeks of intense choreography learning and training, established couples, new partnerships and even those completely new to Dancesport were competing against other universities. With over 13 other universities in attendance, it was to be a long and testing day for each of CUDT’s competitors.
